Photo Awesome

What is PhotoAwesome?

PhotoAwesome started out in the Fall of 2006 as “The Photo Awesome Club at Savannah College of Art & Design – Atlanta”. It was founded by the Photography Department graduate students as a means of organization, both in school and off campus. That club status never materialized. We spent two years regularly covering art events in Atlanta–as well as around the country during our travels–in addition to using this web site as a way of publishing items of relevance to both our membership as well as the great Atlanta art community.

Because the majority of our active members have completed their graduate studies and moved around the country, we no longer use the web site for its original purpose. Any current posts made here will generally only be relevant to our original membership. If you are looking for the most up-to-date information on the Atlanta art scene, check out Art Relish, run by our own PhotoAwesome’r, Jason Parker.

Posting to PhotoAwesome.com

Sorry, we’re no longer accepting submissions from outside our original group of members. You can still try submitting something to us, but because our readership has decreased so dramatically since May of 2008, we no longer have a need for additional content.

Why Am I Here?

You might be wondering why you might even want to look at this site now that it’s essentially inactive. We would say it’s a good resource for seeing what was happening in Atlanta between August 2006 and May 2008. Our videos are of particular interest to most people, so that might be a good place to start.
