SPE is Awesome, Update No. 1
Ok, just making a quick update for you guys. I’m at the SPE (Society for Photographic Education) National Conference in Denver right now… just arrived last night. Let me say this: it is the best thing I’ve been to yet. It’s been an incredible networking opportunity. I’ve already been to the exhibitors fair and gotten a ton of free paper (which I will call fraper), free film (or frilm) and lots of information on stuff I don’t need to buy. I went to the SPE Southeast Regional meeting where I received my $500 scholarship, and we’re going to a lecture by Patrick Nagatani at 4pm.
I’m mostly hanging out with Savannah folks, but I’ve met quite a few people from outside SCAD. And now, ladies and gentlemen, I can say I know the Jay Gould. Not even Dave can say that.
For the record, you’d be stupid to not attend next year’s National Conference. Seriously, it’s an investment in your career.

awwww sounds like your lonely without Eric and I.
Hm, I’m going to have to make sure I go to this next year.
Unfortunately I used all my money on the conference that didn’t have any free stuff or useful networking.
You networked with a dead scientist/railroad tycoon at SPE. Woh! I’m going to set up a Van Gogh seance both at the next conference that we go to.
Dave, sorry to tell you but the Walker man was NOT lonely… He did his share of networking and new friends! SPE is great for all of us, curators, rofessionals, professors and so many random people come that you do not know what new ideas you will be walking away with!
Also, I danced at the conference. Fun was had by all.
SPE was a seriously good time. Team SCAD, lead by the Bliss-man, represented itself well on the dance floor; especially with the addition of Walker’s pink shirt. I am really happy to have met Walker and hope to meet some more SCADlantians next year in Dallas.
crap Dallas! they should move it to Austin or Disney Land or haw about Six Flags. just a suggestion.
