his project consists of four large-scale canvases and an animation with sound. The paintings create a narrative sequence that suggests the passage of time from sunset to midnight and the objects in the paintings coalesce to spell out these words Forever, And Ever, And Ever, And Ever. The accompanying video moves dream-like between a single figure steadily walking the white line at the edge of a road and the animated scenes that are depicted in the paintings. The meaning of the work may vary depending on the viewer. Two possible interpretations are the quest for everlasting love, or the belief in life ever after. However, ambiguity, which is embedded in much of Peragine’s artwork, is an active component of this work. It can just as easily be read as a call to action: is the road you follow the one you want to be on…forever and ever?
